COFFEE PRODUCTION AREA GUKENG
Due to its favorable geographical environment, Gukeng Township has nurtured the uniquely Taiwanese "Gukeng Coffee" in its collective memory. Gukeng Farmers' Association, in the service for farmers we bearing the responsibility of creating agricultural production value, integrates coffee farmers through setting up production area and cooperative transformation of agriculture, introducing shared pesticide use, hygienic processing, and brand marketing to establish a collective production area and expand operations to create brand characteristics.
Gukeng Township is the largest area for coffee production and Traceable Agricultural Products (TAP) certification. Currently, the planted area is about 27 hectares. To meet food safety requirements, from the source of food production we have introduced TAP verification, implemented management system of labels and inspection mechanism to enhance public confidence in consuming domestic coffee. We also provide guidance to farmers on proper pesticide use and establish a concept of safe and responsible production traceability.
Gukeng coffee farmers accumulate proficient post-harvest processing techniques through cultivation management, safe pesticide use, pest control, and post-harvest treatment courses, presenting the rich flavor of Taiwanese coffee, aiming to align with international standards.
The Farmers' Association has set up a coffee production area, introduced coffee TAP verification, and signed contracts with verified agricultural production and marketing Group and their members to purchase coffee beans from the production area to create a collective brand marketing. To ensure the stability of coffee bean quality, they use professional processing equipment to test the quality of green beans, aiming to properly preserve coffee beans, customize coffee products, and innovate Gukeng coffee.
